• Resumen

  El empresariado es un actor político que canaliza, en muchas ocasiones, su actuación a través de sus organizaciones representativas. La pregunta que nos guía es cuál fue la actuación política de la Unión Industrial Argentina, la Asociación Empresaria Argentina y la Sociedad Rural Argentina durante el gobierno de Cambiemos (2015-2019). Estas corporaciones son relevantes por su rol en la representación de los intereses del empresariado en el plano nacional. Si bien disponen de capacidad de veto respecto de las decisiones estatales que consideren amenazantes a sus intereses, sostenemos que los capitalistas no son actores con preferencias dadas y homogéneas conformadas de antemano, sino que éstas se redefinen según el tipo de intervención estatal, de las lógicas internas y de acciones de las asociaciones. Analizaremos su actuación política, centrándonos en lo que el marco conceptual elegido denomina poder instrumental (Fairfield 2015) mediante las posiciones públicas de las entidades o de sus dirigentes.

• Abstract

  The business community is a political actor that channels its actions through its representative organizations on many occasions. The question that guides us is what was the political action of the Argentine Industrial Union, the Argentine Business Association and the Argentine Rural Society during the Cambiemos government (2015-2019). These corporations are relevant because of their role in representing business interests at national level. Although they have the capacity to veto state decisions that they consider threatening to their interests, we argue that capitalists are not actors with given and homogeneous preferences formed beforehand, but rather that they are redefined according to the type of state intervention, internal logics and associations actions. We will analyze their political actions, focusing on what the chosen conceptual framework calls instrumental power (Fairfield 2015) through the public positions of the entities and/or their leaders.
